A 30-year-old Lagos man has been arrested for allegedly selling his one-month-old niece for 2 million Nigerian naira, claiming the money was needed to pay for his mother’s burial.

He said he arranged the sale via Facebook, handed the child over at Mile 2, and transferred the money to his account, giving his sister 500,000 naira.
