South Africa has withdrawn from the 2026 Venice Biennale after Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie canceled artist Gabrielle Goliath’s exhibition, which honored Palestinian poet Hiba Abu Nada and addressed violence in Gaza, Namibia, and South Africa.
