The National Communications Authority (NCA) of Ghana has implemented stricter mobile service standards effective February 15, 2026, raising minimum 3G data speeds to 1 Mbps, reducing call drop rates to under 1%, and requiring a 95% call connection success rate in over 90% of cells.

Voice quality must now meet a minimum Mean Opinion Score of 3.0 for 2G, and SMS/MMS delivery must succeed 98% of the time within five seconds.
