The project, managed by the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council and funded through the North Island Weather Events programme, includes building 2.1 kilometres of stopbanks and bunds along the Ohiwia Stream, raising Ōhiti and Taihape Roads to match flood protection levels, and implementing temporary single-lane traffic controls.
