Chile’s state-owned Codelco and private miner SQM, backed by China’s Tianqi Lithium, have launched Nova Andino Litio SpA to expand lithium production in the Atacama salt flat, aiming to boost output by 300,000 tons annually and restore Chile’s status as a top global producer.
