Thailand will raise its international outbound airport tax from 730 to 1,120 baht per passenger, a 53% increase, effective early 2026 at six major airports including Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Hat Yai.

The change, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, aims to generate about 10 billion baht annually for infrastructure upgrades, including expanding Suvarnabhumi’s capacity.
