Moeaia Tuai, 63, of Auckland, is on trial facing slavery, human trafficking, rape, and assault charges after prosecutors allege he controlled two young people, withheld their passports, and exploited one by securing a loan under false pretenses and withdrawing at least $78,000 from her account.
