The Karnataka High Court has ordered the state government to clarify by October 28 whether trees in Bengaluru’s Lalbagh Botanical Garden will be cut for the proposed ₹19,000 crore Twin Tunnel Road project.

The court, hearing two public interest litigations, expressed concern over the project’s potential environmental damage, including the threat to a 3,000-million-year-old geological monument and the acquisition of 6.5 acres within the garden.
