A new World Bank report reveals that rising temperatures in Bangladesh caused 250 million lost workdays and $1.33–1.78 billion in economic losses in 2024, equivalent to 0.3–0.4% of GDP.

Since 1980, the country’s maximum temperature has risen by 1.1°C and the "feels like" temperature by 4.5°C, increasing health issues like diarrhea, respiratory diseases, fatigue, and mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
