Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) is fighting the government's decision to ban greyhound racing, set to start in July 2026, by applying for a judicial review.
GRNZ辩称,这项决定缺乏适当的磋商,而且信息不充分。
GRNZ argues the decision lacked proper consultation and was inadequately informed.
这项禁令由赛事部长温斯顿·彼得斯宣布,目的是改善狗的福利,但将影响到约1 000人,需要重新装配约3 000只狗。
The ban, announced by Racing Minister Winston Peters, aims to improve dog welfare but will affect about 1,000 people and require rehoming of around 3,000 dogs.
