Missouri's Attorney General says abortions after fetal viability will stay banned, despite a new amendment legalizing them.
Missouri's Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey stated that abortions after fetal viability remain illegal, despite a new constitutional amendment enshrining abortion rights.
The amendment, taking effect December 5, allows restrictions on abortions post-viability, but Bailey says his office will continue enforcing the ban, with exceptions for health reasons.
Bailey also plans to uphold a law requiring parental consent for minors seeking abortions.
